The Value of Volunteering

Protecting this planet is all about protecting the future. Generations to come have a right to live a healthy and happy life.

Young people are the future and this planet needs them. Today’s teenagers have witnessed the dreadful effects of global warming already. Wildfires have spread across Australia, the Amazon and even the Arctic Circle, and so has awareness of human stupidity. We need to act now, working together to create a brighter future for us all.

Green Steps Society offers many volunteering opportunities to promote positive change and inspire others to join. Volunteers can help local communities and spread information on what needs to be done to help the planet. This not only helps to build trust and respect for young people amongst local communities; those who volunteer can feel proud and empowered by their contributions. Young people can be inspiring advocates for making a difference.

Results from voluntary work can lead to a huge boost in self-confidence and self-esteem. Volunteering can also help to build new relationships, experience of teamworking, and a host of new skills. These are valuable additions to anyone’s CV; they show employers important qualities that aren’t always obvious in school reports and academic grades.
